Greetings Ellington Community,

I hope you all are having a wonderful long Thanksgiving Break so far. I wanted to express my gratitude for your continued support of Duke Ellington Schoo of the Arts and our mission to nurture and inspire passion for arts and learning in talented students who might not otherwise have an opportunity to develop their artistic skills.

To support a safe return from Thanksgiving break, all students and staff are required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test on Sunday, November 27. More detailed instructions are further down.

Also, I hope to see parents and guardians at the next SHADE meeting on Wednesday, November 30. On Thursday, December 1, you are all cordially invited to the opening reception for Our DC, a new exhibition by the students and faculty of the Museum Studies Department.

Senior Class – Monday, December 5 @ 11:30 a.m. (In-Person)
Parents – Monday, December 12 @ 6:30 p.m. (Virtual)

Ellington’s next LSAT (Local School Advisory Team) meeting will take place on Monday, November 28 from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. in the White Library or virtually using this link.

“I think the importance of doing activist work is precisely because it allows you to give back and to consider yourself not as a single individual who may have achieved whatever but to be a part of an ongoing historical movement.” – Angela Davis
