
Biography
Irene Datcher is a singer, actor, educator, and graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music with experience across numerous aspects of the performing arts and education. Irene has developed curriculum for and taught Pre-K through college-level music, voice, music and movement, acting, creative writing, and songwriting. She has served as a curriculum specialist, resident artist, adjunct professor, guest lecturer, and workshop facilitator. Irene has cultivated a variety of vocal and drama workshops. Her theater credits include on and off Broadway, as well as regional theater as a performer, vocal arranger, and musical director. While touring and recording, she sang lead and backup vocals for artists such as David Murray, Archie Shepp, John Paul Borelli, Hamiet Bluiett, Carl Hancock Rux, the Marvelettes, Harry Belafonte, Tarika Blue, and James Blood Ulmer. Irene believes education is indispensable to sustaining and nurturing a well-balanced individual.
