Mandatory COVID-19 Testing for Staff and Students for a #SafeReturn Back to School on Monday, August 29

Greetings Ellington Families and Staff!

Welcome to the 2022-23 School Year! To start the school year strong, all staff and students must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test. All students and staff, including partner staff, and school-based service providers are required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test before starting school on Monday, August 29. This is an extension of our #SafeReturn testing measures that took place last school year.

You can pick up a test kit from our school in the Main Office on the following days: Thursday, August 25, and Friday, August 26 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Families can also pick up a test kit from any District COVID Center, located in all 8 wards. You can find the COVID Center locations and hours here:

Here are the three steps every student and staff member must take:

1. On Sunday, August 28, take the easy-to-use, at-home test and follow the instructions provided. You may choose to utilize your own testing option, but tests administered before August 28 will not be accepted.

2. Upload your test results the same day: Provide proof of your test results: students/staff should email their results to; with a picture by Sunday, August 28 no later than 9:00 p.m.

If you don’t have access to a COVD-19 rapid antigen test kit by Sunday, the Ellington COVID-19 team will be testing students and staff in the Performance Hall from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. After 10 a.m, a medical technician will be testing in the Isolation Room.
