FAQs

Where is the program held?
The Journeys! Summer Arts Camp will be held at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts, 3500 R Street, NW, Washington, DC 20007.

What are the camp’s hours?
Journeys! runs from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday; the four-week session takes place from June 30 through July 26, 2008.

Is lunch provided?
While nutritious afternoon snacks are provided daily, students are requested to bring their own brown-bag lunches.

Who conducts the program?
Journeys! is faciliated by skilled master art teachers. Artistic and administrative directors manage daily operations of the camp and direct the final production. Journeys! also will feature established guest artists.

What is the cost to enroll in the program?
The cost of attending is $1,200 per child (multi-camper family rates are available). Acceptance into the program is based on receipt of the completed application, accompanied by a $50 REGISTRATION FEE. (The non-refundable registration fee is required to secure a space). What is the deadline for the Application?
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. However, space is limited and registrants are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. APPLY IMMEDIATELY to ensure a space!

Do you provide family plans and/or scholarships?
A limited amount of need-based financial assistance is available. These scholarships are based on income and will be assessed per individual on a first-come, first-served basis. How do I register my child?
There are four easy ways to register:

To hold a place at the camp, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required. Full tuition is $1,200. Need-based scholarships are available on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, call 202.333.2555, ext. 101.

Rates

The cost of attending the four-week session is $1,200. There is a non-refundable registration fee of $50 due with completed registration form. The registration fee is applied to the total camp fee.

To hold a place at the camp, a 50% non-refundable deposit of $550 is due by Friday, May 2. The remaining balance of $600 is due Friday, June 6.
