Ellington Students Participate in DCPS Summer Study Abroad
D.C. Public School students reportedly visited Bao Bao the panda on a study abroad trip in China. The students fed Bao Bao bamboo at her new home in the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda, according to tweets by a D.C. Public Schools librarian. Bao Bao moved to China in a cooperative breeding program with the China Wildlife Conservation Association in February. When Bao Bao left the District, residents said goodbye to the beloved panda in large crowds. The students who visited Bao Bao are there as part of the DCPS Study Abroad program, which also sent students on a trip to Morocco, according to DCPS. The study abroad program is sending 422 students on 22 international trips for free this summer, DCPS says.
