AP Testing – BEGINS
May 6, 2018
This week we begin Advanced Placement Testing for students who are taking these college level courses. We are excited about this opportunity for our students to demonstrate their knowledge on these exams which run from May 7 through May 17. All 10th grade students will take the AP World History exam on May 17 at 8 a.m. Please keep in mind that taking Advanced Placement courses reflect well on student transcripts when applying to college. Additionally, if students earn a 3 or higher, some colleges will accept the classes as credit.
However, we do need your support to ensure compliance with College Board policies. Your student needs to arrive early to school by 7:15 a.m. to eat a good breakfast and to get prepared for the exam. There are strict policies, that if not enforced, may result in cancellation of scores. Please speak with your students about the importance of this event.
Here are the key reminders:
-No technology is allowed in the testing room (please have your students place ANY electronic items in lockers, cell phone, smartphone, smartwatch, laptop, tablet computer, portable listening or recording devices, MP3 player, iPod, etc., cameras, photographic equipment, any devices allowing Internet access, electronic or communication devices).
-No ear plugs
-No Watches that beep or have an alarm -No food or drink in room (including water)
-No clothing -Clothing or shoes with subject-related information
We are also in need of snack donations, especially for May 17 testing. Please reach out to myself or Donna Hollis (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you are able to contribute.
If you have questions about AP exam testing, please do not hesitate to call or email me at email@example.com.
Thank you for support.
