Walk of Fame Fundraiser

Walk of Fame SY17-18

Ellington has kicked-off one of our biggest fundraisers of the year! One Mile Walk of Fame!

We, the Ellington family, have not always had everything that we need, but certainly we have had and still have the fire and drive to do whatever it takes to uphold our mission. We are tasked with inspiring hundreds of bright young minds to excel artistically and academically, to prepare them for post-secondary education and/or careers in the arts. We do this without fail and have been doing so, and making a difference, for over 40 years.
Even with the beautiful new building, the reality is that we still need resources to ensure that we are able to continue to provide students with the necessary training to compete for new standards and expectations as they apply for scholarships, college entry and possible careers as 21st century artists.

“Every gift will get us closer to our goal. Please join the Ellington community in helping our talented students realize their dreams.” —Tracie Jenkins, Director of Arts

Collaboration between Theatre and Museum Studies

What will the funds be used for? The funds will be used towards new initiatives within each arts department such as Departmental Expansions, Master Classes, Exchange Programs, Production, Departmental Trips, Digital Media Innovative Curation Strategies, and so much more.

How do we expect to raise this? Simple. We are asking each student to be responsible for raising $625. With our student population, we know this goal is within our reach. But as you know, Ellington serves students from a variety of backgrounds – some of whom will not be able to meet their fundraising goal. That’s where you come in! Your participation in the walk or donation to the campaign will help us reach our goal and even surpass it.

Each student’s individual goal is $625. The top three students who exceed their goal will win prizes.

All students who reach their goal will get tickets to New York to see Wicked on Broadway and a master class with members of the cast!

This years’ Walk of Fame event will take place at the new Ellington building! There will be refreshments, performances and raffles. A donation will be your ticket in! Saturday, October 28th at 10am.
